Smokin Eye ~ Fall Winter 2009

Smokin Eye ~ Fall Winter 2009

At the Zac Posen and Thakoon shows, the eyes were smokin’. Creating this sexy eye-lock look—‘40s film noir meets modern-day vamp, or vampire, depending on how much is layered on—is easier than it seems, and relies on a simple black, gray, white and metallic mix. For an understated version, lighten it up by using less eye shadow.

1) Apply white eye shadow from Organic Glam Eye Shadow Palette (in Smoky) all over the lids, up to the brows. This will create depth and dimension, and a sort-of “back-lit” effect to the eyes.

2) Layer on the black eye shadow (from the Organic Glam Eye Shadow Palette in Smoky) to the top lids .

3) Line upper and lower lash lines with Honeybee Gardens JobaColor Eye Pencil
(in Smoking Gun).

4) Apply RMS Beauty Cream Eye Shadow (in Magnetic) to lids, and extend to outer eyes up to the brows.

5) Fill in eyebrow with Couleur Caramel Eyebrow Pencil (in color of choice)

6) Stroke on Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara (in Black Ice) from center to edges of lashes. Curl lashes with Shieseido Eyelash Curler.

CC Tip: When creating a heavy eye apply the eye makeup first, allowing you to wipe off any excess shadow with a makeup removal or baby wipe such as Natracare baby wipes.
