How To Wear A Dark Lip And Love It
From deep plum to rich red, dark lip looks are super-hot this season and can be surprisingly easy to pull off. Everyone can wear dark lipstick as long as it is the perfect shade for your skin tone and applied correctly. Here is the right way to get a bold and beautiful dark lip.
The shade of lipstick that you choose can make or break your look. It is important to go dark in color, but you must choose a shade that works well with your complexion.

If you have a cool complexion, choose dark colors with blue and purple undertones, like a berry or bordeaux. Here are a few of the colors that I enjoy working with:
Couleur Caramel Matte Lipstick in Plum #104
Jane Iredale Lipstick in Brett
After Glow Organic Lipstick in Kiss
For a warm skin tone, look for coral and gold undertones, like brick, coral and golden red. These colors are my favorites for warmer skin tones:
Couleur Caramel Matte Lipstick in Orange Brown #106
Jane Iredale Lipstick in Carrie
Couleur Caramel Glossy Lipstick in Red Brown #201
Not sure if you are a warm or a cool? Take a look at the veins of your inner wrist. If they appear green you have a warm skin tone; blue veins mean you’re a cool.
• If your lips are in need of a bit of volume, a touch of gloss in the center of lips helps to open up the mouth. If you have fuller lips a light balm is enough to finish the look.
• If your lips are feeling a little dry, dab on a bit of RMS Beauty Lip Balm in your flavor of choice.
• For a more intense lip, choose a liner that matches the lipstick you are using. Outline your lips, then fill them in with the pencil. Use a lip brush to apply lipstick, then blot with a tissue and repeat the application of the lipstick.
