turn up the volume with chemical free volumizing mascara
Most of us won’t even leave our homes without putting on mascara and there is a good reason why. It is incredible what a great mascara can do for the eyes, but the scary part is what certain conventional brands are still putting in their formulas. Most mascara formulas on the market today are packed with synthetic film formers, colorants, phthalates, and parabens. Since we all use mascara everyday, I like to opt for a healthier approach to making eyes pop by using all natural chemical free mascara. Here are a few tips on how to create a bold volumized look for your lashes using my favorite natural chemical free mascara and eye liner:
To begin, always be sure to curl eyelashes with an eyelash curler. After you have curled your lashes, apply your first single coat of mascara to both the top and bottom lashes. My two favorites to work with are both Couleur Caramel and Jane Iredale’s Thickening & Lengthening Mascara in black. Let the first coat dry and comb through lashes using a lash brush, starting at the base of the lash line and combing outward. Next apply another one to two coats of mascara, making sure to utilize the lash brush each time between applications to help separate and remove any excess or clumps. To finish the look, line the eyes with a thin black eye pencil like Living Nature’s Eye Pencil in Midnight or Honeybee Gardens JobaColor Eye Liner in Jet Set. Lining the eyes at the lash line will help create the look of a thicker more prominent lash line.
