Wal-Mart’s GeoGirl – Natural Cosmetics For Tweens

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the launch of Wal-Mart’s new cosmetic line specifically designed for young girls ages 8 – 12 years. The fact behind the matter is that little girls want to wear makeup and play with it no matter what. Before you can even turn your head your little one will most likely get her hands on your lipstick before you do, and can’t wait to put on that new eyeshadow you just purchased. How could I forget that what once lead me to become a makeup artist was my young imaginative mind followed by my dream of living like what I saw and experienced in fashion magazines? I saved every penny of my allowance to fill a small tacklebox full of the top cosmetics I would read and learn about. The sad thing is yes, I did get my hands on this makeup to play with and without a doubt it was during a time when there simply was not a safer alternative to the formulas I was bound to play with. So if you are looking for a safe alternative to conventional makeup to hand to your daughter, niece, little sister or friend for play time and dress up – than look no further than GeoGirl – Wal-Mart’s new cosmetic line that features natural ingredients and recycled packaging for tweens. This line is of course designed with little girls in mind, but believe it or not a few of the items have actually made their way into MY makeup kit!

The Creme to Powder Shadows, the Pomegranate lip shine, the Feather Lash Mascara in Blue and the Concealer really all perform quite well. This line is cute, fun and provides a good message. If you know your child will be using makeup for fun and that you allow them to do so, then why not provide them with a product that avoids toxic chemicals and has a nice message in regards to how it is packaged?
