Born in Nicaragua, Barbara Carrera’s exotic beauty brought her to the covers of more than 300 magazines, namely Vogue, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, Playboy, and Cosmopolitan, in America and abroad. Beginning her career as a model at the age of 16, she quickly blazed her way through Hollywood to become the James Bond starlet in “Never Say Never Again”. Infamously known for her role as Angelica Nero in the 1980’s television series Dallas, she is best known for screen performances playing a sinister femme fatale. Perfectly in line with the eighties trends of the runways, it is easy to achieve her look with some of my favorite all natural makeup:

1. After you have applied your favorite foundation, get to work on your cheeks by applying Jane Iredale Bronzer in SO Bronze 1 to bottom of the cheekbone to create a more chiseled effect.

2. Apply Living Nature lipstick in Warm Wood.

3. A finished Brow is always a must with this look. Apply Couleur Caramel Eyebrow Pencil in one shade lighter than your hair color.

4. Apply NVEY Eco Organic Eyeshadow in Grey Shimmer #150 to eyelid and under lower lash line. Apply Jane Iredale Eyeshadow in Cappuccino to crease, outter edges and from edge of brow downward. Quick tip – Apply your Eyeshadow first before concealer so that you can brush or wipe away any excess eyeshadow before applying your concealer. This way you won’t have to apply or fix twice.

5. Curl lashes and apply Couluer Caramel Mascara in Black.

Here is how to get her fabulous look with all natural makeup:

1. Using Sante Eyeshadow Trio in Rosewood, apply the lightest shade all over lid with the medium tone in the crease.

2. Line the eyes with Jane Iredale Eyeliner Pencil in Black and apply to both the upper and lower lash line.

3. Curl lashes and apply a heavy coat of mascara on upper and lower lashes with Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara in Black Ice.

4. Be sure and finish your brow with Couleur Caramel Eyebrow Pencil.

5. At the Oscars this season, it was all about flaunting a bright pink mouth. Apply Honeybee Gardens Lipcolor in Burlesque.

6. Apply Organic Glam Blusher in Pink directly to apples of cheeks for a pop of color.

7. Finish the look with Dr. Hauschcka Translucent Face Powder.

With a trade mark smile as recognizable as Lauren Hutton’s – She has always had an edge on beauty. Following her success as a top fashion model for the Ford Modeling Agency and Revlon cosmetics and gracing the cover page of Vogue nearly 25 times in 1995, Hutton was selected to play the only major female character in Paper Lion (1968). Her modeling career was resuscitated in 1989 with photos in catalogs for Barneys and J. Crew.

Flawless subtle skin is what makes this look so classic and clean. Embrace your beauty and your freckles (if you have them). Let them shine through with a more relaxed use of foundation or concealer coverage. An unfinished brow gives a fresh natural finish to this look – here is how to achieve this look with all natural makeup:

1. Apply RMS Cream Eyeshadow in Seduce to eyelids. Continue under lower lash line for a more defined eye.

2. Apply minimal foundation allowing for a “fresh skin” look. I like RMS “Un” Coverup Concealer in your shade choice. Apply only where needed to cover up redness and blemishes. Lightly dust Dr. Hauschka Translucent Face Powder over the skin to finish.

3. Blush completes this look for a healthy california glow. Apply Mineral Fusion Bronzer in Luster generously to cheeks. Apply the highlighter in the compact to tops of cheeks and bridge of nose. Feel free to dust over collar bones and shoulders.

4. Brows should be combed upwards and set with Jane Iredale PureBrow Fix. If you need to fill in brows be sure not to add too much color to keep the look subtle and natural.

5. Organic Glam Lipstick in Nude takes out the blush of your lip without looking heavy.

6. A coat of Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara is the perfect finale.

Have a go at recreating this look with all natural makeup!

1. The 50’s were all about finished skin, so make sure you apply a matte foundation like Organic Glam Luminous Antioxidant Foundation . Apply concealer for extra coverage under eyes, around corners of nose as this is usually where redness occurs. Apply a matte powder to finish the skin, like Dr. Hauschka’s Translucent Face Powder.

2. Apply Nvey Eco Organic Eye Shadow in Bronzed Marigold Shimmer #167 to eyelids and underneath the bottom lashes, making sure to move the shadow into the corners of each eye as this helps to open up the eye. Next apply Living Nature Eye Shadow in Siennas using the darker shade on outer part of the eyelid and blending the color halfway in, leaving the gold NVEY Eye Shadow to show in the corners and middle of the eyelid. After eyeshadow is applied, use Dr. Hauschka Eyeliner in Extravaganza – Black to line the eyes.

3. You want the cheeks to fade out so the focus is on the eyes and mouth. Apply Organic Glam Bronzer in Light Bronze to apples of cheeks.

4. A soft matte pink lip color is what makes this pin-up girl, 1950’s look pop. The perfect shade to complete this look is Laughter by Living Nature. Line the lips with Living Nature Lipliner and fill them in with Living Nature Lipstick, both in Laughter.

5. Bold lashes are a must with this look, so curl lashes several times before applying 2 to 3 coats of mascara. Using Jane Iredale PureLash Lengthening Mascara in Black, make sure to deposit the mascara heavily to the base of lashes. After mascara has dried from your first application, curl again and apply a second coat. Repeat one last time for a third final coat.

Diane Kruger had a timeless look that is easily wearable on and off the red carpet – A sophisticated look that anyone can wear.

1. Using Organic Glam Eye Shadow Palette in Nude apply soft white shimmer all over lid using the matte brown on the crease of the eye and under bottom lashes.

2. Curl lashes well and applyJane Iredale PureLash Lengthening Mascara to upper and bottom lashes. Make sure to get the bottom of upper lashes coated well.

3. Make sure the brows are finished by applying Coleur Caramel Eyebrow Pencil in your choice as this will help to define the eyes.

4. Apply Organic Wear 2 in 1 Bronzer & Blush in Soft Ginger to the apples of cheeks.

5. In creating a pronounced red mouth, line the lips with Jane Iredale Lip Definer in Crimson, and finish with Jane Iredale Lipstick in Carrie.

6. Make sure your skin is slightly matte by applying Dr. Hauschka’s Translucent Face Powder.

Another great look that I loved was Penelope Cruz, sporting a prominent defined eye. This look is exquisite because the skin and mouth are a flawless nude, making this look not overly made up as the attention is drawn completely to the eyes.

1. Using the Jane Iredale Daytime Eye Shadow Kit apply the soft beige in crease with the soft white under brow and on top of eyelid.

2. Apply Honeybee Gardens Eye Pencil in Jet Set- Black heavily to the upper lash line and to the inside of the lower lash line.

3. Brush on Honeybee Gardens Truly Natural Mascara in black to upper and lower lashes.

4. To give a soft contoured look to cheeks, apply Living Nature Blush in Warm Summer.

5. Finish the look with Living Nature Lipstick in Dusk on the lips with a light gloss on top.

I started working with Emmy when she began doing press for Mystic River in 2003.
At the time I was shooting a lot with photographer Don Flood and he asked me to do Emmy’s portrait for Vanity Fair. To this day the picture is one of my all time favorites of anyone…model or actress.

After the Vanity Fair shoot I have continued to work with Emmy and years eventually stacked up to her being a “muse” if you may… She is the most visually inspiring professional one could ever work on. Having traveled the world with her I have had the opportunity to create many looks on her. This is the latest look that I created for the premier of “Dragonball Evolution” in Tokyo just over a week ago. The above shot shows off a very polished, flawless and sophisticated look of the skin that I was able to achieve with just a few of my favorite natural makeup products, and by prepping Emmy’s skin with Living Nature’s Radiant Night Oil. This helped to create a malleable surface for the foundation to easily blend into the skin. As a finishing touch, powder was applied only to chin, forehead and around corners of the nose.
