Green Baby

Green Baby

Go green by starting with your kids! We’ve come a long way, by providing safer environments, better nutrition, and improved health-care services for our children, but certain childhood illnesses, over the past 10 years, have increased at alarming rates. As we see a rise in asthma, irritable bowel syndrome, leukemia, autism, dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, and hyperactivity, it is impossible not to wonder what may be triggering it. Some now speculate there may be a link to thousands of new chemicals that have come onto the market over the past decade.

As they grow, children eat, drink, and breathe in more, proportionally, than adults, increasing their exposure. Plus, their immune and organ systems are not fully developed, making them more vulnerable to contaminants in our air, water, food, and everyday consumer products. Though subtle damage to developing bodies may not trigger immediate health effects, it may lead to issues later in life.

Deciding to live a greener life will keep your family healthier, and also will encourage a better future for generations to come. The resources below will provide safe, simple guidelines to help you make informed choices as you bring your “green” baby into the world.
